This Italian Herbs and Cheese Bread is a flavorful, aromatic bread that infuses the taste of Italian herbs and a blend of cheeses. Perfect as a side for soups or salads, or enjoyed on its own!

Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet instant yeast
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, yeast, sugar, salt, basil, oregano, and garlic powder.
  2. Gradually add warm water to the dry ingredients and mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.
  4. Fold in the mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  6. Punch down the dough, shape it into a loaf, and place it in a greased bread pan.
  7. Cover and let rise for another 30-45 minutes.
  8. Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 30-35 minutes.
  9. Let cool before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • For added flavor, sprinkle herbs on top before baking.
  • This bread is best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in an airtight container for a few days.
